Where did we come from? Where have we been? Where are we going? And how do we get there? Did we get lost? Do we remember the way?

In this series of paintings, Those Who Went, I focus on the multi layered representation of migration, and of paths and boundaries. Those Who Went re-imagines the winding nature of rivers and roads, and of how humans move across the landscape in bursts of not quite linear motion. Using layers of acrylic paint and ink, I seek to follow the meandering way our journeys cut through landscapes, time and memory.
